How can I do it right?
Prep the skin with a good serum, eye cream and moisturiser.
Opt for a sheer foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturiser instead of a full coverage formula to even out the skin without masking your complexion’s natural glow and use a good quality concealer to correct any areas of concern such as dark circles under the eyes or redness around the nose. The Jane Iredale Dream Tint Moisture Tint SPF15 works well paired from the Jane Iredale range.
If you want to add definition and radiance, stick to cream formulas as these are easier to blend into the skin unlike powders which have a tendency to sit on the surface. Use your fingers or a sponge instead of brushes where possible – you don’t want things to appear too airbrushed. Don’t have a cream bronzer? Just use a darker shade of concealer to add warmth and shape to the face. Just remember to blend, blend, blend!
For the finishing touches add a couple of coats of mascara to the eyelashes (however minimal you go, never skip mascara!) and lightly fill in your eyebrows with a pencil or powder to frame your face. If you want to add eyeshadow, stick to neutral shades and avoid anything too dark or shimmery. Then apply a tinted balm or gloss to the lips to enhance their shape and brighten your skin tone (think natural rosy pinks and peaches for this).
You are good to go!
